You'll see him in your nightmares, you'll see him in your dreams He'll appear out of nowhere, but he ain't what he seems BACKGROUND Eli began life as most demons do, not that he really likes to talk about it. One of several thousand of his ilk, he started out a little shinier, a little brighter, right up until the Fall, and that's a story that's common enough knowledge not to bother getting into. After, well that's a darker and grimmer and altogether hotter story, but after several thousand years it's hard not to go native, so to speak. He wasn't necessarily the best at the whole "bargaining for souls" thing, but he was big and scary and didn't mind the dirty work involved, and so it went for eons. Doing His Best. At least, until a human summoned him in hopes of striking it big with the help of the more infernal powers-that-be. It was a simple enough task; get summoned, strike a deal, carry out his end and take what was owed. Except it didn't really go that smoothly, and the-demon-generally-known-as-Belial ended up the roommate of a human with a more human-sounding name to go with it because he wasn't quite as evil-hearted as claimed. PERSONALITY Eli is...probably not exactly what you expect when you hear "demon". He's not particularly scheming, and isn't much good at long cons. - impulsive - blunt often - CAN lie convincingly but mostly doesn't feel it's worth it; you can hurt people worse with the truth anyway - if/when he does lie it's going to be either over something ridiculous or to get something he wants - can be extremely petty when upset - gregarious - prefers to solve problems with brute force or intimidation rather than actual problem solving/talking things out - JUST WANTS TO HAVE A GOOD TIME - wears his heart on his sleeve mostly - thinks human things are the greatest achievements ever and in retrospect isn't THAT mad God seemed to like humans better because they're pretty great - stubborn as shit when he wants to be but ridiculously easy to manipulate/summon otherwise ABILITIES All the standard ones apply; he's got a demon form (think typical flavor) and a human one, with a nifty trick of being able to merge the two to some degree as needed. He's got some degree of Negative Influence (inspiring bad luck, essentially), and while he can't conjure fire he's immune to the effects of it. He's got a basic level of mental influence as well, but he's not particularly good at it; historically he's mostly just relied on being mean and scary to get people to do what he wants, his silver tongue needs a bit of work. That being said, he's an expert liar, and generally stronger, faster, and more durable than his human counterparts. He's also got a decent handle on conjuring, or making things appear/disappear out of thin air, and while he's not completely invulnerable if you give him long enough he can heal from just about anything so long as it hasn't been tainted by one of his weaknesses. He's not without his weaknesses, obviously, namely holy relics, crosses, and holy water, and he can't step into a church to save his life. EXTRA TBA
